Anti Eyebrow Piercing

Though body piercings have been part of various cultures since ages, eyebrow piercings are totally new and are slowly gaining popularity among the youngsters. Among the different types of eyebrow piercings, the anti eyebrow type of piercing is said to be the latest one.

It is done slightly below the lower orbit of the eye, exactly on the upper cheekbone. Just like all the other forms of eyebrow piercing, even this is a surface piercing, i.e., it is done just below the skin and does not even touch any of the face muscles or bones. This is also known as a teardrop piercing, or even tears.

Just like all the other type of eyebrow piercings, this also takes 6-8 weeks to heal completely. During this time, it is extremely crucial to follow the guidelines given by the piercer carefully. The wound should be cleaned everyday with a solution of warm water and sea salt. This should be done at least twice a day.

Exposing the piercing to hot compresses is also necessary to prevent the occurrence of any kind of infection in the area. One should avoid touching or moving the piece of jewelry, as this can cause scars. If one experiences any kind of pain or infection in the area, it is necessary to consult a doctor or the piercer immediately.

Though this piercing is said to be a long-lasting one, there are chances of rejection of the jewelry if proper care is not taken.
